Seattle Photos, the Pretty Ones

I finally started going through my photos from our trip last weekend to Seattle and I was pleasantly surprised at just how well so many of them actually turned out. It makes me realize all the more that I need a classy gallery component on a website somewhere to catalog the digital imagery from my great adventures. I look back to the install of Gallery that I was using a few years ago and it was pushing 3000 images, but I stopped adding to that a while ago because I’m not so happy with the format anymore. Eventually one of these days I need to revisit the whole project and see if I can revive it – maybe I can still use the Gallery engine and just embed it into another site like I’m doing on my site with Sara these days (although bigger pics, obviously). I’ve also considered using Flickr because I’ve been using it to host my D&D photos, but I’m not super crazy about paying another subscription when I already pay monthly web hosting fees to do something myself.

Anywho, here are a few of the more majestic shots that I liked:

Taken at the Pike’s Place Market in Downtown Seattle – lots of nice colors

Same locale – there were just tons of vendors selling these beautiful bouquets of flowers for anywhere from $5 – $20 each … made anything I’ve ever paid triple that for from a florist around here look like a big vase full of crap!

If you haven’t heard, it rains a lot in Seattle … good news is, I figured out how to use the Digital Macro setting on my camera!

From the top of the Space Needle, looking out over the city

At the foot of some beautiful mountains, just before we almost killed ourselves trying to hike them…
