I found this particularly amusing because although I enjoy the jingles just as much as the next guy, anyone who’s actually attempted to retrieve merely a free credit report via freecreditreport.com knows that it’s just a scam to get you to sign up for their Triple Advantage program which comes with a $14.95 monthly recurring charge … not exactly what you would call free.
Note: For those curious, the actual site that offers free credit reports once a year under the federal law is anualcreditreport.com – funny, there’s now a disclaimer on freecreditreport.com stating that their site isn’t actually the correct site for the federally-mandated reports.
