Disney has actually been posting some neat stuff over on their Disney Parks Blog lately – this one is an interactive time lapse photo of Spaceship Earth at Epcot:
Instead of trying to compete with all of the unofficial sites, I think this is the kind of stuff that Disney’s blog team should focus on because it’s something that they’re in a unique position to offer. Kind of like the early morning photo of the Space Shuttle Discovery launch over Cinderella Castle – don’t waste your efforts with top ten lists of your own restaurants and places to shop – anybody can write those, and they’re more personal coming from your fans, anyways. But behind-the-scenes-type content that the fan sites simply don’t have access to – like the after-hours efforts to relocate Pooh’s tree in prep for the Fantasy Forest construction at the Magic Kingdom – that’s where you can really shine!
By the way, here’s another similar photo from earlier this year that showcases Main Street USA’s transformation from day to night with all of the holiday decorations in place – very cool, indeed!
