hmmm…

I’m not sure which one I should be more concerned about – the fact that we missed our scheduled appointment with the GE technician sent to fix our fridge this morning or the idea that they went through six other Dans before successfully even getting somebody to our front door!

this is kinda scary…

Feds: We will search through your laptop files at the border

I’m not too concerned about anyone finding “illegal” material, but I’ve kinda got a problem with the government making a copy of my entire archive of intellectual property (i.e. my writing) to store in some huge, possibly hackable database somewhere to eventually be “searched for terrorist stuff and child porn.” I can’t say that we plan on traveling outside of the country anytime soon, but I guess when we do we’ll just buy a cheap laptop when we get there or something? 🙁

mini-update

– I don’t want to jynx it, but I’ve actually been getting a lot of writing done this week and I’m feeling really good about it.

– I hooked up the old school NES this week and Sara and I have been playing far too much of The Legend of Zelda. Tonight I got the tri-force from level 4, bought the blue ring, and found the white sword.
“Hi, my name is Scott and I’m a huge geek.”

– I’m actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow, except for the fact that I won’t have gotten much sleep after staying up playing Zelda half the night! I’ve got a couple of really cool enhancements to develop tomorrow and it should be a pretty fun way to round out the week.

Reason #12498 Why Sara is Cool

I asked her to pick me up a pizza to have for dinner over the weekend while she was grocery shopping, so she buys me…

…Mickey pizza!!! Awesome.

Also, today marks the 2nd anniversary of our first date back on April 20th, 2006. While the Applebees itself wasn’t exactly what one would consider “memorable,” fortunately the friendship founded that evening was much more than that. Happy Some-Sort-Of-Anniversary, Babe! (Once we’re “married,” I only have to remember that one, right?)

Current Bid – a mere $50,000

Something tells me that I’d be in a bit of hot water with Sara if she came home to find that I had the winning bid for this one…

How cool would our backyard be then, though?! Pool tables are for amateurs…
