I guess in some strange way, this is their definition of compromise, but what’s going to happen to the next generation of adult scout leaders who will never be because the moment they aged out of the youth program, they were no longer welcome as adults in the BSA due to their sexual orientation?
Equality doesn’t come with caveats, and while arguably still a step in the right direction, this solution isn’t good enough and as much as I want to see progress made, I fear that those against changing the current policy will just dig their heels in even further when we come back to say, “You know, adults deserve to be treated equally, too.”
