You know those guys that you see standing outside of the cheapie, generic cell phone stores around town – the ones holding signs like “CHEAP PHONES” or “FREE PHONES” or “SERIOUSLY, I WILL PAY YOU TO TAKE ONE OF THESE PHONES”? Are these somebody’s brother who’s simply got some time to kill or junkies that just can’t seem to find jobs elsewhere??? They can’t be getting paid all that much, the way I see it, considering that you could probably pick up a wooden stake for that sign at your local hardware store for a buck and a half…
Kind of reminds me of an old comedian’s bit from the days when I used to listen to The Bob & Tom Show religiously. I can’t remember the guy’s name for the life of me right now, but his line was in response to arguing with one of those “construction workers” whose job is just to stand there and hold the stop sign all day – “You know, you could be replaced by a bucket of sand…“
