Mind you, I haven’t really been watching a whole lot of TV lately, but with fall premieres being right around the corner, this seemed like as good a time as any for a quick recap of the good, the bad, and the boring…
Just Finished…
- Curb Your Enthusiasm – Honestly, this whole season was really hit and miss for me. It did have some funny bits (i.e. Larry and Rosie fighting over the same girl), but it seems like the circumstances are becoming a lot less Larry being weird and getting himself into trouble and a lot more People being jerks to Larry. I miss seasons 1-5…
- Entourage – I was really hesitant on the direction this one was taking, but somehow they turned it around and came up with a halfway respectable series finale. I guess just the scenes with Vince getting caught up doing coke were a bit much for me – this is supposed to be a happy show!
- Leverage – Ok, so I guess there’s still technically one more episode left, but it’s not until November so it might as well be over. But I’m really liking this show these days – it’s probably my favorite one on television right now. So, will Hardison and Parker finally officially hook up in the series finale???
Just Starting…
- Bored to Death – Eternally grateful that HBO eventually swapped out season 2 for season 1 on demand, I’ve been able to completely rewatch/catch-up on this show over the last month or so, and I’m really looking forward to season 3. This show just has a really laid back, fun vibe to it … plus, it’s a show about a writer, which is always fun for me.
- Dexter – Curious to see what Edward James Olmos and Mos Def bring to the show this year, although I’m always wondering what they can possibly to do top themselves from last time with this one. My favorite season is still the one with John Lithgow – it’s tough to beat the erie, ominous ending of Rita’s death…
- The Simpsons – I’m honestly not even sure why this one has to be in the list – it’s The Simpsons, so of course I’m going to watch it!
- How I Met Your Mother – I’ve actually been slacking on this one lately, which is weird because I was really enjoying it when the wife and I first started watching it … we literally went through the first four seasons on DVD just as quickly as Netflix could send them to us! Since then I’ve watched bits and pieces, but I need to get back into watching on a regular basis.
No Longer Care…
- The Office – I didn’t even get to see the finale where Michael left because I missed it and it didn’t get recorded, but I’ve seen some of the episodes after and that show is really struggling now. As much as I (used to) enjoy some of the supporting cast, Steve Carell is the US version of The Office and it won’t last long without him (even though NBC will certainly beat the horse to death trying…).
- Weeds – My wife is still into this show, but I kind of lost interest when the plotline went from quirky weed show to harder drugs/also people getting murdered … I guess weed is a gateway drug after all! Too bad I’m just not interested anymore…
