Reading this kind of story makes me all the more infuriated that this still somehow actually got signed.
Sure, it’s all fine and dandy to say that you’re only going to indefinitely lock up the terrorists, that is, until you accidentally lock somebody up for SEVEN YEARS when they’re actually not really a terrorist at all.
Would you be willing to spend seven years of your life erroneously locked away at Guantanamo Bay, being tortured every day while your children grow up without a parent, all under the unsubstantial guise of “protecting freedom”?
Seven years is a long time…
