  • 15:44 Airport Fun: Looking like an idiot when you can’t figure out how to get the faucets in the bathroom to turn on. #
  • 15:45 Even More Fun: Spraying water all over your shirt when the stupid thing finally does turn on… #
  • 15:48 If people would skip only one empty seat instead of two, there’d be a lot more people able to sit down here at the gate. #
  • 15:54 Business talk I don’t want to hear on vacation – anything pertaining to "solutions" or "process improvements." #

  • 16:03 An eavesdropping sidenote – companies should not call groups "task forces" or "swat teams" unless they’re actually going to give them guns. #
  • 16:16 Now boarding … time to stop with the tweeting and get some actual writing done! Amazing how the less distractions, the easier it is… #

  • 20:21 Really frustrated that these airplane seats are too small to even let me fully open a laptop screen!!! #
  • 20:23 Baby in row behind me, empty seats in rows around but ours, and I swear this seat feels smaller than the last. It’s gonna be a long 6 hrs! #
  • 20:25 Exa
mple: "AIRPLANE!" Cute the first time your kid says it, but now it’s getting obnoxious. "Yes, we’re on a damn AIRPLANE already-shut up!" #

  • 14:51 No, no – you’re fine. I’m sure they didn’t mean YOU when they put up that NO PARKING sign. I mean, NOBODY ELSE can park there, but… #
  • 15:21 Oh shit, you guys! I just spilled a can of soda on my desk!!! Oh … wait, all cleaned up now. #learn #bp #
  • 17:45 I love how I already spent $800+ on plane tickets, and now it costs me another $15 to get two seats next to each other. Thanks, United! #
  • 17:49 "Bag fees are non-refundable" – screw you, EVERYTHING is non-refundable with these stupid airlines! Next time, I’m growing wings… #
  • 17:50 "Prices go up at the airport, so pay for your bags now and save a
few!" – everything I read on this website now just sounds cocky… #
  • 17:51 Oh, what’s that? You wanted an AIR-CONDITIONED CABIN for your 6-hour, cross-country flight?! There’s a fee for that… #
  • 17:53 "Your credit card is about to be charged … again. And there’s NOTHING you can do about it, either!!!" #airtravel #sucks #
  • 17:54 Seriously?! I just paid them HOW MUCH, and these fuckers have the nerve to serve ADS on the page with my boarding passes?!?!?! #wtf #
  • 18:02 This is a good start – bitter about flying already and we don’t even go to the airport until tomorrow! Gonna be a tweet-filled day, I think. #
  • 18:16 @bensrpgpile Nah – flying to Seattle this weekend to visit friends. It’s just sad to see how rapidly downhill flying has gone! #
  • 23:26 Ooh – WordPress 3.0 Thelonious looks pretty sweet. Of course, I know better than to try a "quick upgrade" before going on vacation! #
  • 23:27 Here’s the link to the preview video – looking forward to playing around with it when I get back. (tinyurl.com/2vv4fzf) #wordpress3 #
  • 23:28 I think the multi-site integration interests me the most, but not sure for scalability yet if I want to merge 6 installs into 1. #wordpress3 #
  • 23:29 Note: Concern is mostly due to the hosting provider I use, not a lack of confidence in WordPress. I’d just hate to have to migrate one… #
  • 23:30 …away for bandwidth/usage needs and find issues because they all share the same code base. Will research options, though! #wordpress3 #

Way to go, Microsoft…

Option #1: Click Close Message and end up having to reboot the whole damn machine when Windows fails to relaunch Explorer and thus eliminates my ability to open new programs.
Option #2: Move this little dialog box out of sight and just keep on working as normal.

Now which one do you think I picked???

Too many tweets

I’m thinking about shutting off LoudTwitter and eliminating the nightly tweet reposts that it makes to LiveJournal.

I originally set it up back when I first started using Twitter because I was hardly blogging at all and I felt bad that I was spending all of my time using Twitter instead, but now I’m trying to make more of an effort blogging again and it just seems a little tedious climbing over all of the tweet posts to look back at the actual blog posts.

I mean, some of the tweet reposts can be amusing, but I almost wish I could isolate them off to their own category so that I didn’t have to see them in the main blog view if I didn’t want to. Can LiveJournal do anything like that???

  • 01:30 To the Cricket Taking Up Residence Just Outside Our Patio Door: Go forth and explore! The world is not limited to your view of our kitchen! #

  • 14:31 Woke up and found the AC on the fritz again … temp was up to 77 degrees (vs. 70), so at least I caught it early. Gonna be a fun day… #
  • 16:35 AC still isn’t working because I’M NOT AN AC REPAI

also, spider…

…with either a really bad growth she was dealing with, or more likely an eggsac that she was protecting. I realized during the hour and a half I spent out in the garage with the AC guy that we’ve got a ton of these things out there. Not sure if I should feel bad about never cleaning up out there or if their presence is inevitable, but along one corner I swear I couldn’t at least a dozen within a couple of feet of each other.

Go figure – this one was off all by herself. You don’t fuck with a pregnant spider…
